Say NO to asylum camps with Doctors of the World

We're calling for the closure of mass asylum containment sites.

Since November, our mobile clinic has been providing medical care to people held at RAF Wethersfield, in Essex, a former military barracks now used as a mass containment site for people seeking asylum.

Over 74% of our patients are in severe psychological distress, with 41% experiencing suicidal thoughts or planning. 68% had previous experience of violence or abuse. The lack of adequate mental health support is deeply concerning.

The environment at the Wethersfield camp is prison-like, exacerbating the trauma people held here have already endured. Overcrowding, lack of privacy, and constant feelings of unsafety are the norm.
